Welcome back

If you have trusted this office on Madison Avenue over the years

You knew it as Romano Dental. It is now Radiant Smiles Family & Aesthetic Dentistry, led by Dr. Jasmeet Kaur, D.D.S. The address is the same, the phone number is the same, and your records came with the practice. What is new is the technology and, we hope, the amount of time someone spends explaining things to you. You are welcome back, and so is everyone you sent here.

Why families stay

What you can expect here

Not a list of adjectives. A list of things we actually do.

01

We explain it before we do it

Every option, what it costs, what happens if you wait, and which one Dr. Kaur would choose for her own family. A patient who understands the options can choose between them. A patient who doesn't is just consenting.

02

No judgment, ever

People do not avoid the dentist because they are careless. They avoid it because someone once made them feel small. Whatever the last few years looked like, we start from where you are today.

03

Modern where it makes a difference

Digital scanning instead of impression trays. Treatment planned on a screen you can see. Not technology for its own sake — technology that means less gagging, fewer appointments, and a better fit.

04

Family and cosmetic, under one roof

A child's first checkup and an adult's veneers are not two different practices here. From first tooth to full smile makeover, in one office, with one dentist who knows the whole history.

I'd rather spend ten minutes explaining a filling than two minutes doing one.

Dr. Jasmeet Kaur, D.D.S.
The dentist

Fifteen years, and a strong dislike of goopy impression trays

Dr. Jasmeet Kaur graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry in 2009 and has spent more than fifteen years in general and cosmetic practice. Part of that time was spent in clinical consulting and quality review — looking closely at other dentists' work and asking what separates the good from the merely finished. It shows in her own.

She is an Invisalign provider, and she plans treatment digitally with iTero and TRIOS scanners: a small wand that takes a few thousand photographs of your teeth in about ninety seconds. No tray, no impression material, nothing to gag on while it sets.

If dental anxiety is what has kept you away — and for a great many people, it is — nitrous oxide sedation is available, and a first visit can be nothing more than a conversation. Read more about Dr. Kaur.

Coming to see us

Hours, parking, and the honest answer about insurance

We are open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We are closed Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday — which is a real limitation, and we would rather you knew it now than found out while in pain on a Wednesday morning. There is parking at the building. The office is at 2240 Madison Avenue, a few minutes from the Trumbull line. On insurance, the short version: Radiant Smiles is currently an out-of-network provider with most plans. Many plans still cover part of your care out-of-network, and we will help you find out what yours does before you commit to anything. For patients without dental insurance, there is an in-office membership plan, and financing through Cherry and Sunbit. What all of that actually means for your bill is set out plainly on the new patients page.

Before you call

The questions people actually ask

Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. Radiant Smiles Family & Aesthetic Dentistry in Bridgeport is currently accepting new patients, including children. Call (203) 372-0881 or request an appointment online, and we will find you a time. Your first visit is an exam, X-rays if you need them, and a conversation about what you want to do — not a sales pitch.
What are your hours?
NEEDS SIGN-OFF K-14 Claims about the practice — Hours: Mon/Tue/Thu 8–5:30, Fri 8–1; closed Wed/Sat/Sun. Approve as written, or give the correction. Radiant Smiles is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The office is closed Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. The 8:00 a.m. appointments are the ones that go first, because they are the ones you can reach before work.
Is there parking at the office?
Yes — there is parking at 2240 Madison Avenue, so you are not circling the block or feeding a meter. This is one of the quiet advantages of a North End practice over a downtown one, and it matters more than people expect when they are bringing two children and a stroller.
Do you take my insurance?
NEEDS SIGN-OFF C-30, K-10, K-11 Costs stated here — membership plan — annual price + inclusions NO FIGURE — WE DO NOT KNOW THIS. Claims about the practice — Out-of-network with most plans; we help with claims; Cherry and Sunbit financing offered. Approve as written, or give the correction. Radiant Smiles is currently an out-of-network provider with most dental plans. That does not mean your plan is useless here — many plans include out-of-network benefits that still cover a share of your care, and we will help you work out what yours covers before you commit to anything. We also offer an in-office membership plan for patients without dental insurance, and financing through Cherry and Sunbit. If cost is the reason you have been putting off a visit, tell us on the phone. It is a conversation we have every week.

The long answer: Going to the Dentist Without Insurance in Bridgeport — What It Actually Costs

Do you see children?
Yes. Dr. Kaur sees children and adults at Radiant Smiles in Bridgeport, often in the same family and often in the same afternoon. Most children should see a dentist by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth appearing, whichever comes first. A first visit is short, gentle, and mostly about letting a child find out that nothing bad happens here.
I haven't been to the dentist in years. Will you lecture me?
NEEDS SIGN-OFF K-06 Claims about the practice — Nitrous offered; IV / general sedation NOT offered. Approve as written, or give the correction. No. A first visit after a long gap is an exam, X-rays, and an honest conversation about where things stand and what you would like to do about it — at your pace, in whatever order you can manage. Nothing has to be fixed on the first day. If anxiety is the reason for the gap, say so when you call; nitrous oxide sedation is available, and knowing in advance lets us plan the visit around it.
