A Dentist Serving Shelton, CT
Radiant Smiles Family & Aesthetic Dentistry serves Shelton, CT from 2240 Madison Avenue in Bridgeport's North End — about fourteen miles and twenty to twenty-five minutes south, straight down Route 8. Dr. Jasmeet Kaur, D.D.S. is accepting new patients.
Twenty minutes is a long way to go for a cleaning. It is not a long way to go for an implant. This page is about the difference.
The drive is duller than the distance suggests
Route 8 runs from Shelton to Bridgeport with no traffic lights and, outside rush hour, no drama. It is fourteen miles of dual carriageway and it takes about twenty minutes.
There is also a back way, and it is older than the highway. Before Route 8 was built, the road between Bridgeport and Shelton ran along Huntington Turnpike — it was Route 65 once — and it still delivers you into the North End a few streets from our door. When Route 8 is backed up at the Trumbull split, that is the road to take.
A note on the exits: Route 8's exit numbers were renumbered to the mile-based federal system. The Bridgeport Avenue and Constitution Boulevard exit that Shelton has called Exit 13 for fifty years is now Exit 11; Howe Avenue's Exit 14 is now 12A; Huntington Road's Exit 11 is now Exit 7. The old numbers are still posted on smaller signs beneath the new ones, and will be for a while yet. Read the road name.
When it is worth twenty minutes
NEEDS SIGN-OFF K-01 Claims about the practice — Implants PLACED AND RESTORED in-house. Approve as written, or give the correction.
Honestly: not for a hygiene appointment. Shelton has practices closer to you and we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.
Worth it for the work you would rather choose than settle for. Dental implants — placed and restored in one office, with the crown done here rather than referred out. Crowns, bridges and fillings. Veneers and cosmetic work. Clear aligners.
Worth it if you already come this way. A great many Shelton residents work in Bridgeport, in Fairfield, or in the corporate parks along Bridgeport Avenue that feed into the same road. An 8:00 a.m. appointment on your existing commute costs you nothing but the appointment.
What you get for the drive
NEEDS SIGN-OFF K-13 Claims about the practice — Parking at the building. Approve as written, or give the correction.
A dentist who explains the options and then lets you choose between them. Published cost ranges, so you can compare before you get in the car. Digital scanning instead of impression trays. Nitrous oxide sedation if you need it. Parking at the door.
And one dentist, seeing you each visit, who remembers what you told her last time. In a market full of practices where you meet whoever is on that day, that turns out to matter more than most people expect.
Cost, up front
NEEDS SIGN-OFF C-30, K-10, K-11, K-13, K-14 Costs stated here — membership plan — annual price + inclusions NO FIGURE — WE DO NOT KNOW THIS. Claims about the practice — Out-of-network with most plans; we help with claims; Cherry and Sunbit financing offered; Parking at the building; Hours: Mon/Tue/Thu 8–5:30, Fri 8–1; closed Wed/Sat/Sun. Approve as written, or give the correction.
Radiant Smiles is currently an out-of-network provider with most plans, and we say so on the website rather than at the desk. Many plans still pay a share, there is an in-office membership plan for people with no dental insurance, and financing through Cherry and Sunbit spreads larger treatment monthly. Every service page here carries a real price range. The full explanation.
We are closed Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to 5:30 p.m., and Friday to 1:00 p.m. Worth checking before a twenty-minute drive.

Radiant Smiles is in Bridgeport, not Shelton — at 2240 Madison Avenue, about fourteen miles and twenty minutes south down Route 8.

Getting here from Shelton
From Shelton (about 20–25 minutes, roughly 14 miles). Join Route 8 south — from Bridgeport Avenue and Constitution Boulevard (long signed as Exit 13, renumbered to Exit 11), from Howe Avenue (Exit 14, now 12A), or from Huntington Road (Exit 11, now Exit 7).
Stay on Route 8 south through Trumbull, where it runs together with Route 25. Come off in Bridgeport's North End and head west to Madison Avenue. We are at 2240, with parking at the building.
The back way, when Route 8 is backed up. Take Huntington Turnpike south — the old pre-highway route between the two towns — through Trumbull and into the North End. It is slower on a clear day and faster on a bad one.
From the Merritt. Route 8 meets the Merritt Parkway in Trumbull. If you are already on the parkway, come off at Park Avenue (Exit 47, renumbered to Exit 29) and drop south to Madison Avenue.
